Dale Baron
Dale Baron is an emerging artist, who wrote the music for two original musical comedies. Her first play, “Dream On, Baransky!”, for which she also co-wrote the script, debuted Off-Broadway in New York City on March 22, 2023 for a three-week run. “Dream on, Baransky! “is back with it’s Second Dose Revival, October 4-22, 2023. Dale wrote the music and collaborated with professional Broadway and North Carolina vocalists to create a cast album. The Play tells the story of a man juggling simultaneous relationships while undergoing a series of highly experimental, musical, anti-anxiety treatments. He is “transported” into dream-like states while walking a tightrope between his complicated love life and a nerve-wracking fantasy world. Dale's second play “Has Anyone Seen My Life?” was performed by the UNC-Chapel Hill Pauper Players in April, 2022. This musical tells a reflective story about the emotional rollercoaster we rode while in quarantine. The plot unfolds through entertaining and heart-touching songs that speak to unexpected insights and outcomes we experienced during the height of the pandemic. Dale is also a guest presenter with Carnegie Writers, Inc. a community-based non-profit organization. Their mission is to encourage children, adolescents, and adults by providing positive and productive support to writers working on a wide variety of projects. Their vision is to advance education, encourage collaboration, promote creativity, and provide resources for writing and literacy education.
Alex Baker
Alex Baker (Composer/Arranger) is an artist in Durham, NC. Alex has over twelve years of experience including working on the composition team for an original Musical Film, various Music Directing/Performance opportunities in theater, working with several professional orchestras.
While attending UNC, Alex performed in the orchestra pits of many shows including Chicago, Mamma Mia, Gypsy, Spelling Bee, and 35mm. He was the recipient of the Best Music Direction award for UNC Student Theater in 2020.
Alex was the Assistant Music Director of Oliver!, and played piano for the New Classics Cabaret with the Haywood Arts Regional Theater (HART). He has also performed with with Carrboro High School’s orchestra and music theater department.
He is currently the Assistant Music Director of PlayMakers Repertory Company, Summer Youth Conservatory and teaching music lessons with Notasium in Durham.
Alex is the Music Director, Arranger, Composer for the original cast album of “Has Anyone Seen My Life?” He also co-wrote some of the songs from the Play with Dale Baron.
